Witness Account- Anna

Abdul was hired to work as a tv and repairman in Pakistan in hope of a better life. One day, while working and tinkering with a radio he heard a Christian Pastor on the radio. Little did he know, that would change his life forever. He was transparent with one of his customers about his faith, and as a warning a group of masked men shot him in arm. After this he moved to Kabul quickly. His daughter Aziz testifies that her father used to abuse them and slap them, but she noticed a change once he began to read the Bible. Abdul start to share his faith with his family and began reading the Bible to them. At that time it was legal to practice your faith in private within limits. Although, it was illegal to convert from Islam to another faith. A little later his daughter had a dream the God had descended to her and gave her a white flower. When she woke up, she knew the meaning and converted to Christianity. Following her father’s wishes she married a Muslim man. The missionaries at the marriage were confused why Abdul would allow his daughter to marry a Muslim man, but he replied that he wanted this marriage to be an opportunity to share Christ with him. One day, Aziz’s husband, Hassan, asked her why she wasn’t praying five times a day like the other Muslims, and she said she was scared to tell him. Although she did tell him, and he kept it a secret. When a missionary offered a job to Hassan to be a guard at their house, he gladly took the job. At the job the guard on the shift before left a Bible there for him to read. Moreover, he began to read the bible on the job, and day by day Aziz shares that he began to be less abusive to her as he read the Bible more. Soon after, the Taliban began to start targeting foreign homes and hotels and a South African director and his two teenage children were shot dead that night. Sadly, also Hassan was killed. When his mother found out that Hassan was killed and that Aziz was a Christian, she blamed Aziz for his death and beat her. She was taken to another country with her in-laws, in fear of associating with Christ and was forced to be a maid. Meanwhile, her father was saving money to flee from Afghanistan to Delhi, were in fact over 30,000 refugees flee, and take his daughter with him. Today, Aziz and her relatives live a safe life in Delhi in a 3- bedroom basement apartment.
