Everyone is hostile to Christians. The main religion in Afghanistan is Islam, and almost all people are Muslims. There are only thousands of Christians, and they are all in danger. People in Afghanistan are not allowed to become Christians. Christians need to form secret churches, and Muslims are forbidden to become Christians. If anyone in Afghanistan is caught as a Christian, the person will most likely be killed. Torture and kidnapping also happen to many Christians. Muslims who convert to Christianity are considered crazy and will end up in a hospital with their homes destroyed. The families of Christians are not even safe. If a Christian is found, the family will have to get rid of them in order to avoid persecution and/or death. Being a Christian in Afghanistan will most likely result in death or other means of torture.

Are the Christians being persecuted in public?
All Christians know that the Christian faith is prohibited. Even so, the Christian faith and secret churches are growing. It never mentions this specifically, but I think that persecution must be public. It would not be listed on the top persecuted countries in the world if people there did not know what was happening and the punishment for being a Christian.

Afghan Churches around the world:
Around 30,000 Christians have fled from Afghanistan to New Delhi recently. Most Christians choose to flee to India because it is so close to Afghanistan and because they are familiar with the country. The church in Delhi is called the Afghan Church of New Delhi and is funded by the churches by it, such as the Christian Fellowship of Afghanistan. It is still hard for Christians living in New Delhi to have peaceful lives. They will not be given jobs, and pastors are treated poorly. There is also an Afghan church in Toronto, but there is not a website, so we do not know much about it. There is an Afghan church in America called the Afghan-American Church. The goal of this church is to bring all of the Afghan-Americans to church. There are many Afghan Christians in America, and this church is trying to bring an Afghan church to every city where Afghans live. There is also one legal Catholic Chapel in Afghanistan. There are not many Catholics in Afghanistan, so only 200 attend daily mass. This 200 is mostly made up of U.S military personnel. This is the only legal church in Afghanistan.
